National Children's Choir - NCC

Well done to our 5th & 6th Classes who raised the rafters at the NCC Concert in the National Basketball Arena on Friday night.

Not only did they sing beautifully but they looked impeccable and their behaviour was exemplary. They were a credit to their school, to their families and to themselves. We are very proud of them.

Huge thanks to our parents for ensuring the girls were there in good time and immaculately dressed. And to the girls' teachers for their preparation and work over the last seven months and for giving up their Friday evening to attend and supervise at the concert.

Celebrating Music Day in HP!

We look forward to celebrating Music Day in Hollypark on Friday 4th April! Already classes are creating posters for display in our school.

During Seachtain na Gaeilge, we listened to a variety of Irish Music in our classes and we hope to listen to and compare/contrast different genres of music in our classes in the lead-up to Music Day.

A number of classes will interview a parent, grandparent on their memories of music. On Friday 4th we will also perform, demonstrating a variety of genres of music in contrast to our selection of songs and performances during Seachtain na Gaeilge.

We will focus on the orchestra and the various families, learn about various composers, participate in a class quiz based on music and incorporate art as part of our Music Day.

We hope the girls will enjoy this special day.

Percussion Workshop 2025

Our Percussion (Drumming) Workshops take place on Monday 16th June, Tuesday 17th June and Thursday 19th June. Each workshop will take 45 minutes and will be presented in a fun and enjoyable way.

Hockey

We are the captains of the 6th class hockey teams. On Monday, both of our 6th class hockey teams had their Leinster League Finals!
The A team won their match 2-0 and brought home the cup! The B team had a very close match and unfortunately lost their match 1-0, but still got silver medals!
We will remember these special moments forever. We have had such a good experience playing these matches with our classmates and friends. We are so sad that this fun has come to an end and we hope the 5th class next year will have just as fun as we have had!
By Aoife Holland, Lucy Kennedy, Zoe Broderick and Hannah Kearney.

Huge thanks and well done to Team Coaches Ms Henry, Ms McNulty and Mrs Marnell!

Tennis

We are very proud of our School Tennis Team and their success to date!

Camogie

Our School Camogie Team have their first match of the season next week! Go Hollypark!

Swimming

Great day all round at Sunday's Swimming Gala:

Lots of personal best times!

Matylda Szmagara made the individual 50m Backstroke U10 final - great achievement.

The U11/12 relay team picked up a second silver so they got silver medals in both the Medley and Freestyle relays!

Go Hollypark!

Traffic Safety

Morning & afternoon one-way system:

Reminders:

  • The school has received many complaints of dangerous driving and parking in the vicinity of the school. Children and local residents are being put at risk.

  • Please use Foxrock Church car park at drop off and collection times and walk the last 6 minutes with your child.

  • Deansgrange Cemetery has requested that our parent body do not park and stride from the Cemetery carpark.

  • 80% of our pupils live within 2 kilometres of our school. Please encourage your older children to walk with their pals to and from school.

  • Please ensure that younger children are held by the hand when walking with them to and from school.

  • Please do not block the driveways of local residents when parking. Many of our residents – often elderly - are virtual prisoners in their own homes at drop off and collection times. And when they speak up are often subject to abuse.

  • In the event of an emergency, when cars are parked illegally, it is unlikely that a fire tender or ambulance would be able to access the schools, or any homes in the vicinity.

  • Hollypark GNS & BNS understand and appreciate how busy the roads are each morning. We continue to engage with DLR & An Taisce, Safe Routes to School, for a safer school zone.
