Grandparents' Day 2025: Friday 31st January

We had such a lovely day on Friday celebrating Grandparents' Day.

Huge thank to our PA for the non-stop teas and coffees for our beloved Grandparents - Smiling Ninjas indeed!

Laudate Festival 2025

Well done to our 4th Classes who raised the rafters last Wednesday night at the Laudate Festival. They were a credit to their families and their school.

Voluntary Contribution

Thank you to the 195 families who have already given a Voluntary Contribution to the school for 2024/25. Each and every contribution is very much appreciated and will be used to enhance your daughters' learning environment.

Your Voluntary Contribution makes a real difference. Thank you!

If you would like to help in any additional way with our school development,

Safer Internet Day 2025: Tuesday 11th February

Hi we are Alanna, Robyn, Giorgia, Michaela, Aoife, Aoibhínn, Ava, Áine, Eva, Rachel, Isla and Lingxi the 6th Class STEM Team.
We are very excited to deliver a presentation to 5th and 6th classes highlighting tips about online safety in advance of our Cyber Workshops.
As STEM leaders in the school we are very excited by the educational opportunities offered by the internet and technology in general but we are also conscious that the younger children in our school need to be safe online.
We will present information about cyberbullying and general safety online.  In preparation for this presentation we asked 5th and 6th class to give us some input and we hope that this will make our presentation relevant and useful!

History Day in Hollypark: 19th February 2025

We look forward to celebrating History on Wednesday 19th February 2025 with many fun activities on the day.

The girls in 2nd – 6th class will have the opportunity to dress up as a character based on an era or event they have been working on in class. Alternatively, the girls could pick their favourite character from history. Your daughter’s class teacher will give the girls further details.

Irish Dancing Achievements

I was in an Irish Dancing Competition at the weekend in Limerick, called Féile Áine. I did two dances two times each. I won the slip jig and came second in the heavy jig. I was so excited to come 1st overall. Altogether I won 2 medals, 3 trophies and a sash!
By Annabel, 4th Class

Sisters Connie & Zoe competed at an Irish Dancing Feis in Wicklow this weekend and brought home many medals and trophies!

STEAM Achievement

On Saturday 1st February we took part in a STEAM Robot Building Competition in Monkstown. We were delighted to come in 3rd place!
by Belle (3rd Class), Anna (5th Class) & Lingxi (6th Class)

Hockey Achievement

Our names are Ava, Kate & Ellie and we are in Ms Conlon's 5th Class. We all play for Avoca Hockey Club. Over the weekend Pembroke Hockey Club hosted a Hockey Tournament. There were 16 teams in all. We played 8 matches and advanced to the semi finals. We won the semi-finals and then won the final! It was a really enjoyable day and we are very happy that we won!

Author @ Large!

Éabha in Ms. de Fréin’s 6th class was very busy last term writing her first novel!

The Lost Prince is a wonderful fantasy novel. She has captivated audiences throughout the school over the past few days reading excerpts from her novel.

We are sure that she will go on to be a fabulous children’s author in the future! Well done Éabha!

The School Choir with Deansgrange Community First Responders

At the recent Parish Christmas Concert, together with the Foxrock Parish Choir and Loreto College we raised over €10000.00 for two charities. On Tuesday we presented half of that money - €5407.47 - to Deansgrange Community First Responders. We are delighted and proud to support this charity.

Traffic Safety

Morning & afternoon one-way system:

Reminders:

  • Please use the church car park at drop off and collection times and walk the last 6 minutes with your child.

  • 80% of our pupils live within 2 kilometres of our school. Please encourage your older children to walk with their pals to and from school.

  • Please ensure that younger children are held by the hand when walking with them to and from school.

  • Please do not block the driveways of local residents when parking. Many of our residents – often elderly - are virtual prisoners in their own homes at drop off and collection times. And when they speak up are often subject to abuse.

  • In the event of an emergency, when cars are parked illegally, it is unlikely that a fire tender or ambulance would be able to access the schools, or any homes in the vicinity.
